I first picked up a camera in the late 70s when I was in high school. I discovered then that I both enjoyed photography and had a knack for it. Today I photograph the things that interest me—animals, primarily dogs; people you might walk by without noticing; odd locations and scenes wherever I encounter them. The images on this site are just a small sample of the photos I've taken over the years.

My real training began after attending Ball State University, where I earned a degree in Commercial Photography. I graduated and spent the next seven years working as an assistant to Tom Casalini in Zionsville, IN, learning the finer points of portrait photography. After that I worked for Sparks Hauser Photography for three years doing commercial photography and then for FineLight, Inc.for three years taking advertising photos for a number of large healthcare clients. All of this was supplemented by countless hours of freelance work and recreational photography.

Currently I'm a full-time freelancer. I get lots of portraiture work, which I love, and I'll take an occasional commercial or editorial assignment. If you like what you see here, please don't hesitate to contact me.
